About Randy Dahl

Randy grew up working along side his father in their family owned business "Artistry in Motion" in Junction City, Oregon. It was during this time Randy developed his unique style of air-art; a time consuming process layering custom blended colors to the chosen medium in a free hand technique.

In May 2002 Randy ventured out to find a new source of inspiration. It was then he found what he was searching for on the island of Hawaii. Seeing his childhood dreams of nature come to life before his eyes, he realized the islands would provide endless artistic vision.

Each year, Randy unveils a new addition to his collection. Because his work is so incredibly detailed and because the framing process is an art unto its own, a whole year is dedicated to completing each original piece. While painting, Randy begins to realize what form the frame will take. He is careful to take into consideration the true meaning of the piece, then the type of wood is chosen. Only after the painting is complete does he begin to shape the logs into the ideal counterpart for his final creation.

Because of the popularity of Randy Dahl's work, we are pleased to offer reproduction prints, better known as a giclee. Each giclee is part of a limited edition and is therefore numbered and signed. Also, each print is unique in that the artist hand highlights each print. This means that paint is actually added to the canvas after printing in order to accentuate detail and give it that special hand touch.
